Daughter Sue Aus
Hammer on the
cover of the POA
Magazine in 1974,
her last year of high
school.  She rode
and trained POA's for
many years after that.
This page is
dedicated to her
because she died of
breast cancer in
2004 at the age of
48.  She never lost
her love of horses or
her ability to breed
quality ponies and
train them.

youngest ,

she broke
and rode

Susan was a vital, important person in our
family.  She took a deep interest in
everything she did, her family, her work as
a counselor at Minneota Schools, her
children's activities
and  her horses.  She
could turn a horses attitude around just
like she could her students.  She had
unlimited ambition and drive when she set
her mind to something.  She has left
behind three children and her spouse and
a legacy of love .
She also developed a unique pony, Peppy
Sans Reward, turned him into a reining
pony, a pleasure pony and a Stallion
Deluxe.  The pictures below show him as
he won the freestyle reining at the 1999
International show in Madison, Wis. two
years in a row.  He also won costume.
Sue's daughter Rachel showed him to
perfection and no one ever guessed she
was riding a stallion.  He has sired many
quality ponies over the years and still
stands for Sue's husband Todd  Hammer
at Minneota, MN.

Rachel reined
Reward in 1999 &
2000 to 1st place
in both years.
Here he is shown
in the costume he
wore as he reined
to Lee
Greenwoods "I'm
Proud to be An
American".  It
brought the house
down and tears to
the eyes.

open reining for the 2nd year in a row.

earlier stallions, Bar Cat.  He sired many
quality POA's for us in the 70's.

1984.  This was one of the good colts we had
from Bar Cat.

Sara on
Hopie, her
first pony.
1984
Still in 8 & under,
Sara showed Missey
at the International
Show in Des,
Moines , IA and won
with her little pony
that day.  The pony
was in heat and
crabby  and Sara
was not happy when
Missey stepped on
her foot in protest.
In the good old days of much snow in our
area, winter activities with the horses might
mean a sleigh ride on the river with this POA
team of Cat's Supreme and Wimpy Star.  Kris
is at the reins with her twin Kathy and Jim
and John , the younger brothers,  enjoying
the ride.
Here we have a grownup Kris' son Holdyn as
he poses with two of our ponies that were
recently offered for sale.  Sugar, the sorrel is
now 15 miles west of us and Baby Face
found a home far away.  We always have
started and broke ponies, and young
prospects for sale at all times.
